Giant Bicycles will match all donations up to $5000
Here at Elevation Outdoors we are focused on breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for local youth to gain access to experiences and opportunities they may otherwise never have.
Our “Live to Ride” mountain bike program is one of our longest running programs, and 2023 will see our 14th season of introducing youth to the sport of mountain biking. The program runs for 7 weeks in July and August and introduces 10 youth to the sport through twice a week rides. We focus on participants who have little to no previous mountain bike experience and start off with the fundamental skills needed to ride and over the next 7 weeks build their skills and confidence to slowly tackle more challenging terrain to build their skills finishing off with a couple of days of riding at the Big White Bike Park.
By the end of the program our participants have built their skills and passion for mountain biking. While in our program we are able to remove many of the barriers they face to participating from transportation and knowledge to having the equipment needed to ride. Once the program wraps up however many of those barriers come back, and our graduates are now stoked to ride, but often are unable to without the support of Elevation Outdoors and our program.
This is where we need your help! To support our 2023 Live to Ride program we are launching our new “Keep them Rolling” campaign. Our goal is to raise enough money that will allow us to give any graduate from the program the bike they rode all summer long so they can keep on rolling when our program is over. The Kelowna area has many amazing trails, and many of our participants live close enough to a trail network that if they owned their own mountain bike they could ride to the trails and continue to mountain bike.
Giant Bicycles has stepped up to help us make this happen, and this is where you come in! Giant will match any donations up to $5000 to help us make this possible! That means if we raise $5000, Giant will contribute the other $5000 we need and that will cover the cost of the bikes, as well as some of the costs to help these awesome kids participate in the program.
