We are so excited to announce that On The Lawn powered by BDO is back for Summer 2023! Registration opens on April 4, get your teams together now!
What’s On The Lawn All About?
OTL is excited to celebrate it’s 7th year in 2023. OTL has helped raise over $100,000 since it started all to support a great cause!
We invite Okanagan fun-seekers to step back in time, roll some bowls, sip a cool beverage, and have a truly awesome time. BBQ and beverages are available each week so all you need to do is show up and be ready to have some fun, and battle it out for the top spot! There are prizes for “most fun team”, “best team name”, and of course the tournament champions!
The games are organized into 2 brackets, each running 2 weeks (July 20,27 and August 3, 10). Your team can register for one bracket or both! Teams plays 3 games each week as well as a social time, giving you a chance to meet new people and have some fun benefiting our local youth charity.
All proceeds go to Elevation Outdoors, whose mission is to enhance the lives of underprivileged youth via specially-designed outdoor programs.
Did You Say Lawn Bowling?
Yes we did! The aim of the game is simple. It’s like bocce meets curling. Teams are comprised of 4 players with 2 bowls each.
Roll your bowls as close as possible to a small white ball called the ‘Jack’. It might sound easy, but the fact that the bowls do not travel in a straight line seriously adds to the tactical challenge. Yes, lawn bowls are weighted.
