We are excited to announce our partnership with Play It Again Sports Kelowna!
Members of the community can now take their lightly used sports gear to Play It Again Sports, located at 1778 Baron Rd, Kelowna, and donate it to support Elevation Outdoors.
Play It Again Sports has always accepted used gear and provided an in-store credit, but now that credit can be given to Elevation Outdoors to support our work in the community. Our goal each year is to build up enough credit so that the graduates of our “Learn to Shred” programs will be able to get a board/boots/bindings package to further reduce the barriers they face to taking part in the sport after our program ends.
This program is an incredible opportunity for Elevation Outdoors and the families we work with as it will help create long term access to the sport of snowboarding beyond our programs and can help inspire entire families to get up to the mountain.
This program will also help reduce some of the administrative burden on Elevation Outdoors as now when community members make donations of gear we can easily take it to Play It Again Sports rather than needing to have our own storage and inventory management system, so this is really a win-win for Elevation.
HOW TO MAKE A DONATION
- Go through your gear(it does not matter what sport) and put the items you do not use anymore in your vehicle.
- Drive to Play It Again Sports at 1778 Baron RdKelowna
- Chat with the friendly staff at the shop and let them know that you would like to credit for all your gear to go to Elevation Outdoors
- Drive home happy knowing that you have helped make our community better while clearing out some space in your home!
- Tell all your friends about it to help spread the word and get more of the gear that is not in use in a new home with someone who will be stoked to have it!
