Snowboarding
The Learn to Shred program is our longest running, and most in demand program, since it’s creation in 2007.
Applications received after the Dec 1st, 2026 deadline will be added to the waitlist for our 2027 Learn to Shred/Shred More programs.
Who it’s for
Youth ages 12-18 who are beginner snowboarders – no gear or experience required! For youth who have previously completed our Learn to Shred program, or are at an intermediate level, we have the Shred More program.

What to expect
The Learn to Shred program teaches youth with no previous experience how to snowboard and provides them with all of the necessary equipment, instruction, mentorship, lift passes, and transportation to do so! Our volunteer mentors will be there to connect and provide positive role modelling and confidence building during sessions.
Getting there
In an effort to make the sport more accessible, Elevation Outdoors provides transportation from 4 central meeting locations in Kelowna and West Kelowna to make it easier for participants to join us at Big White.
