Bikes for All helps local families and individuals experience the joy, freedom, and health benefits of cycling.
Applications are now open for 2026!
Since 2021, the program has given away more than 450 bikes to families new to Canada, children, and individuals who otherwise wouldn’t have access to one. In 2026, we’re aiming to place 100 more bikes into our community.
How It Works
- Nominations & Applications: Open October 1 – December 1, 2026. Families, community agencies, and individuals can nominate someone, or themself, who would benefit from a bike. A nomination does not guarantee a bike. We do our best to pair up people with the right size bike based on what is available.
- Distribution: Bikes will be matched and distributed starting in November into December, just in time for the holidays. Bikes can be picked up from Smith Creek Cycle in West Kelowna or at Cyclepath Kelowna or the Elevation Outdoors office in Kelowna. If transportation is a barrier we can arrange delivery in limited cases.
- Who Qualifies: Anyone in the Central Okanagan who faces barriers to accessing a bike—whether financial, social, or situational.
Why Bikes Matter
Cycling is one of the simplest and most affordable ways to stay active, commute, and connect with community. A bike can mean:
- A child discovering the joy of riding with friends.
- A parent gaining a reliable way to get to work.
- A newcomer family exploring their new community together.
How You Can Help
Donate a Bike: Thanks to the generous support of Bikeways we are only seeking donations of specific bikes sizes this year. We need the following: Kids bikes with 16in, 20in, or 24in wheel sizes, Adult Bikes: Size S frame size of 26/27.5 wheel sizes.
To donate a bike you can drop them anytime during business hours at Smith Creek Cycle. For Kelowna based donations please email us to arrange a time to drop bikes at the Elevation Outdoors office.

Your donation helps us cover the cost of helmets, locks, repairs, and tune-ups so every bike is safe and ready to ride.

Volunteer
From cleaning and repairing bikes to helping with distribution day, there are many ways to get involved. Send us an email if you are keen to help with mechanic nights or bike distribution. Mechanic nights are on Thursday evenings at Smith Creek Cycle starting on Oct 29th!
