10 Years, $290,000 Raised, and a Community That Keeps Showing Up
This summer, the 10th Anniversary of On The Lawn powered by BDO celebrated a decade of impact for local youth.
KELOWNA, BC: Ten years ago, we had a simple idea: get Kelowna’s businesses and young professionals out to roll some bowls, connect with their community, and raise funds to support youth access to outdoor recreation. Nobody knew it would become one of Kelowna’s most anticipated summer events, one that sells out every year, sometimes within minutes of registration opening.
Elevation Outdoors is proud to announce that this summer, On The Lawn powered by BDO celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Since 2015, this community fundraiser has brought together corporate teams, local businesses, sponsors, and supporters to raise over $290,000 for local youth facing barriers to outdoor recreation in the Okanagan, sending young people rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, skateboarding, and so much more.

A Decade of Partnership

BDO is joined by a community of long-time sponsors whose continued support has made On The Lawn a true Kelowna institution, helping Elevation Outdoors give deserving youth access to outdoor experiences that build confidence, foster belonging, and open doors that might otherwise stay closed.
An Event Unlike Any Other
Part lawn bowling tournament, part community gathering, On The Lawn has built a reputation that speaks for itself. Teams return season after season to compete for prizes, reconnect with friends, and enjoy summer evenings steps from the lake at the Kelowna Lawn Bowling Club.
This was not an easy year. Smoke and air quality led to the cancellation of two nights, disappointing for everyone involved. But despite those setbacks, this community showed up in a big way, raising nearly $42,000 in two evenings of play and one big celebration. The 10th Anniversary Celebration Night was a fitting close to the season, welcoming new community members alongside familiar faces for an evening of memories, food, games, and of course, lawn bowling.
