There’s a moment every season that sticks with our team. A kid who showed up nervous and quietly clips into a climbing harness for the first time. A teenager who’s never been on a bike finds their balance on the trails. A parent sends a message saying, “Thank you for everything you did with my son. He enjoyed himself so much. I am so glad he was able to be part of such a wonderful experience.”
Those moments? That’s the job.
Elevation Outdoors is gearing up for another summer of getting Kelowna youth outside, and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it. We have four seasonal positions open across our programs and our bike rental operation, Kelowna Bike Rentals, and every single one comes with the kind of summer you’ll actually want to talk about.
What We Do
For those who are new to us — Elevation Outdoors is a registered charity that provides free outdoor recreation programs to youth ages 12–18 in the Kelowna area. Rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, skateboarding — we cover the gear, the instruction, and the transportation so that nothing stands between a young person and discovering something they love. Since we started, we’ve helped hundreds of youth build confidence, find community, and develop skills that stay with them for life.

Our team is tight-knit, outdoorsy, and genuinely passionate about the work. As one of our long-time volunteers puts it: “Their smiles, enthusiasm and joy while doing the sports, along with increased self-esteem and improved physical and mental wellbeing, say it all.”
That energy runs through everything we do. You’ll develop real skills in areas like event management, marketing, bike mechanics, customer service, and non-profit operations. And at the end of the summer, you won’t just have a paycheque — you’ll have made a genuine difference in the lives of young people in your community.
The Positions
We’re currently hiring for multiple roles, all based in Kelowna:
Recreation Rental Supervisor — Lead the day-to-day operations at Kelowna Bike Rentals. You’ll manage staff, oversee the equipment fleet, and ensure every customer has a great experience. Starting at $24/hr, 4–5 month contract beginning May 1.
Bike Maintenance Mechanic & Customer Service — Keep our rental fleet in top shape and help customers find the right ride. Weekly mentorship sessions with a senior mechanic mean you’ll build your skills fast. Starting at $22–$23/hr, 8–16 week contract starting around May 4.
Marketing and Events Assistant — Help us tell our story. You’ll support summer fundraising events like On the Lawn, run social media, capture photos and video on our programs, and improve how we share our impact with funders and the community. Starting at $22/hr, 8–10 week contract.
Rental Attendant — The front line of Kelowna Bike Rentals. Check bikes in and out, provide safety briefings, work with adaptive equipment, and be a welcoming face for tourists and locals alike. Starting at $21/hr, 8–16 week contract with start dates from May through early July.
All positions are full-time (35–40 hours/week) with casual dress, flexible scheduling, and the Okanagan as your backdrop.
Who Can Apply
These roles are funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, so candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons granted refugee protection.
