Elevation Outdoors Terms and Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to Elevation Outdoors. By participating in our programs, events, or using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in our programs, making donations, or engaging with our services, you indicate your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from participating or using our services.
2. Eligibility
- Program Participation: Participation in Elevation Outdoors programs is open to individuals who meet the specific eligibility criteria for each program, as outlined in our promotional materials or application forms.
- Parental/Guardian Consent: For participants under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the participant.
3. Registration and Fees
- Program Registration: Registration for programs must be completed through the designated application forms provided online or in person.
- Fee Payment: Some programs may require a fee. Payment details, deadlines, and refund policies will be communicated during the registration process.
- Scholarships: Scholarships are available for eligible participants. Scholarship decisions are final and based on program-specific criteria. Learn more about our scholarship criteria here.
4. Health and Safety
- Participants are required to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or medications as part of their program application to ensure their safety during activities.
- Elevation Outdoors reserves the right to deny participation if it determines that a participant’s health or safety could be at risk.
5. Code of Conduct
All participants, staff, and volunteers are expected to uphold the following standards:
- Respect for others, including participants, staff, and property.
- Compliance with program rules and safety guidelines.
- Abstaining from behavior that is disruptive, abusive, or unsafe.
Violation of these standards may result in removal from the program or event without a refund.
6. Donations and Fundraising
- Donations made to Elevation Outdoors are non-refundable and will be used in accordance with our stated mission and fundraising guidelines.
- Donors can choose to remain anonymous by making a request in person, in writing, or electronically.
7. Privacy Policy
Our collection, use, and storage of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canadian privacy laws. By participating in our programs or supporting our organization, you consent to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy.
8. Media and Photography Release
- By participating in Elevation Outdoors programs or events, you grant permission for photos or videos of you (or your child) to be taken and used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, newsletters, and our website.
- If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify us in writing prior to the start of the program or event.
9. Liability Waiver
- Participation in any Elevation Outdoors program requires the completion of a liability waiver. This waiver must be signed prior to the start of the program.
- Participants and their guardians agree to release Elevation Outdoors, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during participation in programs or events.
- Participants acknowledge that outdoor and physical activities involve inherent risks, and participation is voluntary.
10. Program Changes and Cancellations
- Elevation Outdoors reserves the right to modify or cancel programs due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather, safety concerns, or insufficient enrollment.
- In such cases, participants will be notified promptly, and refunds or alternative arrangements will be offered where applicable.
11. Intellectual Property
- All content, materials, and branding associated with Elevation Outdoors are the intellectual property of Elevation Outdoors and may not be reproduced without prior written consent.
12. Text/SMS Communications
By opting into our SMS messaging service, you agree to the following terms regarding how we handle your data:
- Data Collection: We will collect some or all of the following information – name, email address, mailing address and/or mobile phone number when you sign up for SMS updates. The information will be collected via our website contact form, email, program or event registration forms, rental agreements or third party reservation systems.
- Data Usage: We use your data solely for sending updates and reminders related to our programs and services.
- Data Security: We protect your data with secure storage measures to prevent unauthorized access.
- Data Retention: We retain your information as long as you are subscribed to our SMS service. You may request deletion at any time.
- MESSAGE AND DATA RATES MAY APPLY. Your mobile carrier may charge fees for sending or receiving text messages, especially if you do not have an unlimited texting or data plan.
- Messages are recurring and message frequency varies and may include program reminders and updates or service offers.
- Contact Elevation Outdoors at 250-870-9094 or info@elevationoutdoors.ca for HELP or to STOP or CANCEL to stop receiving messages.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of the SMS list at any time by texting STOP or CANCEL to 250-870-9094 or emailing info@elevationoutdoors.ca and requesting to be removed from the SMS list. After unsubscribing you will receive a final SMS or confirmation email, based on how you notify us, confirming you have unsubscribed and we will remove your number from our list within 24 hours.
- You can send HELP to 250-870-9094 for additional assistance and you will receive a text including our phone number, email address and website to provide further assistance. We are here to help.
- Non-Sharing Clause: We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Elevation Outdoors will not sell, rent or share the collected mobile phone numbers.

Elevation Outdoors is committed to providing safe, respectful, and positive experiences for all participants, families, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
If you have a concern or complaint related to our programs, services, staff, volunteers, or organizational practices, we encourage you to share it with us so it can be addressed appropriately.

Anonymous complaints will be reviewed to the extent possible.
Any concerns related to participant safety or child and youth protection must be reported immediately to Elevation Outdoors staff or Program Leaders so that appropriate action can be taken without delay, in accordance with Elevation Outdoors’ Child & Youth Protection and Safety policies.
Complaint Review
- All complaints will be taken seriously and handled in a respectful and confidential manner.
- Elevation Outdoors will review complaints in a timely manner and determine appropriate next steps.
- Some matters may require additional time to review, particularly where safety, legal, or privacy considerations apply.
Limitations
Elevation Outdoors may not be able to provide detailed updates or outcomes in all cases, particularly where confidentiality, privacy, or legal obligations apply.
15. Updates to Terms and Conditions
Elevation Outdoors may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. Changes will be posted on our website and communicated via email if necessary. Continued participation in our programs or use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
