What’s On The Lawn all about?

On The Lawn powered by BDO is back for Summer 2026, and we’re celebrating 10 years of lawn bowling fun! This popular lawn bowling tournament is Elevation Outdoors largest fundraiser raising almost $250,000 since it began, all to support youth in our community.

Okanagan fun-seekers are invited to step back in time, roll some bowls, sip a cool beverage, and have a truly awesome time. In addition to lawn bowling action, On The Lawn is a great opportunity to connect with friends, network, soak up some sun, enjoy some great BBQ and beverages and have a little friendly competition – all while supporting a great cause!

How to Join the Fun

It’s our 10th Anniversary and we want to celebrate with you! Thursday August 20th we’re having a party! Join us for a fun night of OTL memories, music, BBQ & beverages, fun games, and celebrate 10 years of On The Lawn and a quarter million dollars raised for local youth! Tickets are $10 – on sale April 9th, 2026.

Team registration is $280 for 4 players and includes two nights of Lawn bowling and 4 tickets to the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Tickets go on sale April 9th, 2026.

Games are organized into 2 brackets (2 separate tournaments), each running Thursday evening for 2 weeks: Bracket 1: July 23 & 30. Bracket 2: August 6 & 13. Teams plays 3 games each week with one social break, giving you a chance to meet new people and enjoy some BBQ. Doors Open at 5:30 pm and games wrap up around 9:00 pm. There are prizes for “best dressed/most fun team”, “best team name”, and of course the Tournament Champions!

All proceeds go to Elevation Outdoors, whose mission is to enhance the lives of youth facing barriers via specially-designed outdoor sport programs.

What if I’ve Never Lawn Bowled?

Never lawn bowled, don’t worry, there’s no experience required! The first night starts with some instructions and there are Kelowna Lawn Bowling members around to help you as you go. Anyone can play. It’s like bocce meets curling.

Teams are comprised of 4 players with 2 bowls each. The aim of the game is simple – Roll your bowls as close as possible to a small white ball called the ‘Jack’.

It might sound easy, but the fact that the bowls do not travel in a straight line seriously adds to the tactical challenge. Yes, lawn bowls are weighted. Closest team to the Jack scores!
